Golds Gym Treadmills Review
Golds Gym Treadmills are found in discount stores like Walmart. While the name may conjure up pictures of the famous Gold's Gym - in reality, the brand is owned and manufactured through ICON Health and Fitness.

ICON is the largest fitness equipment manufacturer in the world. They also own lines like Reebok, Image, Weslo, Nordic Track and Proform.

This explains why many Gold Gym treadmills look very similar to Proform or NordicTrack treadmills.

Strengths:

Unlike a few years ago when there was essentially only 1 Gold's Gym treadmill you could buy, there are now several ranging from  $400 up to $1500.

So the variety is better. Since they're very similar to Proform and Nordic Track models, you can get some similar bells and whistles as these brands offer.

They also have some good value treadmills in their lineup like the Maxx Crosswalk 650. This treadmills is only about $649, offers crosswalk arms to increase your calorie burn and was highly rated by a leading consume magazine.

Weaknesses:

These treadmills are not nearly as popular or as well known as other ICON brands. They may look very similar to a Nordic Track or Proform. However the warranties are not as long - which could cost you in the long run.

For example, almost all Nordic Track treadmills come with a lifetime frame and motor warranty, various years on parts and 1 year on labor, which is quite good.

As of this writing, the Gold's Gym 1500 treadmill (very similar to the Nordic Track Commercial 1500 treadmill - but for $400 more) only offered 1 year on the frame and 20 years on the motor. This is not a great warranty and doesn't give you as much protection.

Another thing you may notice is that Golds Gym Treadmills have risen in price lately. This is a bit curious seeing as they don't give you as much warranty coverage as other brands.

You can find a much larger selection of these treadmills at Walmart online than at local stores. However, be aware that these treadmills will only ship to the nearest Walmart - so you're responsible for transporting it to your home. And a 200 lb treadmill is not an easy thing to transport on your own.

Conclusion: Not Recommended

Gold's Gym treadmills offer more in terms of pricing and treadmill options now than they have in the past. However considering that they are virtually the same models as Proform or Nordic Track - we would probably choose a Nordic Track or Proform over a Gold's Gym treadmill.

They offer better prices for virtually the same machines. Plus you get better warranty coverage and you can get it shipped directly to your home.
