Healthrider Treadmill Review
Healthrider treadmills used to be very popular - however these days they're not as well known as other brands.

Healthrider is owned and manufactured by ICON Health and Fitness, one of the largest producers of treadmills in the world.  They also own brands like Epic, Image, Nordic Track, Proform and Reebok.

While they've recently fallen in terms of popularity, Healthrider is introducing a completely new lineup of treadmills that do show some promise.

Their new lineup has improved cushioning, iFit workout card technology, longer walking areas and even built-in TVs.

Strengths:

#1) iFit Card Compatible For More Workout Programs - Most new models are iFit card compatible. iFit workout cards offer 8 weeks of personal trainer workouts (per card).

You insert the card directly into the treadmill's console and the program will automatically adjust your speed and incline to fit the workout's goals.

The voice of a personal trainer talks to you through the speakers, guiding you through the workout.

#2)  SpaceSaving / Folding - All Health rider treadmills fold up to save space. There's a self-locking latch to keep the treadmill in place for easy moving or cleaning.

#3 ) Improved New Models - While Healthrider models were starting to fall behind in terms of what they offered, the new models have improved tremendously.

Overall they offer strong motors, longer (up to 60") belts, better cushioning and more fitness tracking tools like iFit card compatibility.

Nordic Track Treadmill Ratings:
Weaknesses:

Considering these treadmills run from around $895 up to $1995, there's a lot of competition in this field. And when you compare them to similarly priced brands, they don't always measure up in terms of what you get for the money.

For example, they don't offer as many fitness tools or workout programs as the similarly priced Nordic Tracks.

However, the new models are a lot stronger than older units and time will tell whether they prove themselves in the field.

Conclusion:

While Healthrider treadmills are manufactured by Icon - the largest treadmill manufacturer in the world and a name that will be here for the long run - they just do not measure up against similarly priced treadmills.

While the new models are a huge improvement over the older ones, and much stronger in terms of construction, for similar prices you can get a Nordic Track or Sole with more fitness tools, workout programs and longer warranties.
