SportsArt treadmills are high end commercial grade treadmills on the same level as brands like Landice, Precor and LifeFitness.
Sports Art treadmills are made by SportsArt Fitness - a company that started in the fitness business in 1977. Throughout the 80s and 90s they actually built products for brands like Precor, Schwinn, Universal and Tunturi.
In the early 1990s they decided to focus more on their own SportsArt brand.
Since then, they've become one of the fastest growing manufacturers of specialty level cardio products in the world.
SportsArt units start around $2400 so compared to other luxury grade brands which start around $3000+ this isn't a bad price.
Strengths:
#1) Strong Motors - SportsArt offers strong motor powers starting from 2.8 HP up to 4.0 HP. The motors are all built with Flowtech™ Technology.
This is a unique-to-SportsArt cooling system that runs continually to keep the motor in cool, clean working condition. The Flowtech™ system extends the motor life and reduces maintenance - which can save you money in the long run.
#2) Adjustable Cushioning - Many of their treadmills use an Adjustable Cushioning system so you can customize the cushioning of your deck to fit your personal preference.
Studies have shown that this cushioning system reduces heel force impact by up to 50% (as compared to running on asphalt)
#3) Extra Long Walking/Running Areas - Sports Art treadmills offer some of the widest (22") and longest (up to 62") belts we've ever seen. This is a great feature, especially for taller users or runners who want to pick up their pace.
#4) Decent Warranties - The home treadmills are covered by a lifetime frame and lifetime motor warranty, 3 - 5 years electronics and 1 year on service.
While it's true that at this price you would expect a great warranty, surprisingly, there are several similarly priced brands that don't give it to you. However it should also be noted that there are several other lower priced brands like Sole with even better warranties (i.e. 2 years on service).
#5) Excellent SportsArt Treadmill Reviews - SportsArt treadmills have rated well with experts like Consumer Guide and Runners World.
The SportsArt 3110 Treadmill (no longer available) was given a "Best Buy" award from Consumer Guide and was rated 5 out of 5 for Performance, Ease of Use and Features.
The Sports Art TR33 was highly rated by Runner's World. And Shape magazine also rated the TR33 one of its "Top 3 Treadmills to Try".
Weaknesses:
Obviously, if you're on a budget, these are not the treadmills for you. While these are commercial quality home treadmills, many people do not need to spend this much to get a high quality treadmill.
As an alternative we would suggest the Sole brand which costs less and also gives you a commercial grade feel with a better warranty.
Conclusion:
If you're looking for one of the best high end treadmills on the market, SportsArt treadmills come highly recommended.
They offer a higher quality of construction than most home treadmills. You also get excellent cushioning, strong motors, extra long walking/running belts, club-style console and a lengthy warranty.
They also have high expert ratings and a proven history of making some of the top brands in the industry.
The only negative of course is the price. This may be more than some people need - especially if you only plan on walking occasionally. Overall however, runners or those looking for a high end treadmill will probably love a SportsArt machine.
